Effigy Masks have historically been used by native peoples for thousands of years for hunting, ceremonial, recreationa
and other uses. Historical accounts of natives in the use of Effigy masks were portrayed in early 17th centurry paintings
of Native peoples using the entire deer hide to approach deer for hunting success. In addition numerous accounts
by colonial explorers describing dances using animal masks for hunting and/or war expeditions.
